Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting Blush Review

Too Faced is a brand that makes me weak in the knees whenever I see their products. Their packaging is always so unique and beautiful that I have a longing desire to own all of it just to display it.

thumbnail_IMG_3547For the longest time, I had wanted the Love Flush Long-Lasting Blush. I will not lie, the only reason I wanted this blush so badly was because of THE PACKAGING. It’s so cute. First of all, the outside of the package is shaped like a heart. That alone was enough to make me want to buy it. The gold “Too Faced” logo on the front worked so well with all of the shade ranges they had to offer.

The shade I chose to purchase was “Baby Love”. It is a fairly light, neutral pink shade. It is definitely a warmer toned blush as opposed to some of the other shade selections.

thumbnail_IMG_3546Next, the design of the blush itself is one of the most stunning and creative imprints I have ever seen on a piece of makeup. I did not use the blush for months after purchasing it because I wanted to preserve the stunning image. The floral pattern, with the two adorable little bunnies and Too Faced’s classic cursive logo unfortunately fades after the first few uses. You can help preserve the longevity of the pattern by being delicate with the brush application. The softer you press your brush into the product, the less it will damage the imprint.

This blush retails for a whopping $32CAD ($26USD) for its 0.21oz/6g of product. That, in my opinion, is a very steep price point for this product. I am assuming most of the production cost does come from imprint on the blush as well as the nontraditional, heart-shaped design of the packaging. Each blush contains a full-sized mirror; which also contributes to a higher price point. The mirror is very secure and does easily get dirty from product residue.

For $32CAD, I felt as though I was buying this blush more for the brand name and for the packaging, rather than for the product itself. It is a beautiful product. Although, for the actual amount of blush you are getting, and for the quality of it, it does not seem worth its price point.

This product claims it is wearable for up to 16 hours. I applied this blush and wore it for a day, and I will say it did not last for 16 hours. During the initial application, the blush is quite pigmented (My shade, Baby Love, being the more subtle blush of the available shades, was less pigmented than others). It is easily build-able, so it does allow you to control the intensity of the blush. And while it is build-able, it is more difficult than other blushes to blend out. The product is quite buttery, but it applies somewhat patchy as you attempt to blend it around your cheeks.

Overall, I was disappointed by the longevity claim of this product. It would last a regular 8-hour working day; but, not for the promised 16 hours. For the high brand pricing, I was expecting more from this blush. Claiming 16 hour longevity, consumers are left with high expectations, and then are let down when the product doesn’t live up to the hype.
Despite that, it is still a good quality blush. I appreciate being able to control the intensity of the pigmentation, and the shade options that Too Faced has available for this product are stunning. It wears beautifully, despite not flawlessly blending on your cheeks. As stated, the packaging of the blush and the imprint on the product makes it one of the most beautiful makeup pieces I own.

If you are searching for an incredible, high-quality blush, but do not care for packaging or brand name products, I would recommend finding a cheaper alternative than this blush. The quality does not justify the price point with this product.

It is a good quality blush if it is feasible for your wallet. The packaging is stunning. But, the quality is not so mind-blowing that I would be willing to spend $32CAD again for 0.21oz of product. The lower rating is due to the longevity claims that did not live up to expectations and for the price point.
